UFMI CEO Role Overview

The Uganda Federation of Movie Industry (UFMI), the designated Collective Management Organization (CMO) representing film rights holders in Uganda, is seeking a visionary and experienced executive for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Role Overview

The Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic direction, overall leadership, and operational management for UFMI. Key goals for the role include growing the organization, safeguarding intellectual property rights, optimizing royalty collection and distribution, and building strong relationships with industry stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Drive overall operations, strategic planning, and policy execution for UFMI.
• Royalty Management: Direct and enhance systems for collecting, managing, and distributing royalties to rights holders.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with government agencies, broadcasters, digital streaming platforms, film producers, and industry bodies.
• Governance & Compliance: Guarantee strict adherence to copyright laws, industry regulations, and organizational governance standards.
• Financial Oversight & Partnerships: Manage financial budgets, mobilize strategic resources, and develop growth opportunities.
• Team Leadership: Supervise staff and external consultants while reporting directly to the Board of Directors.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Law, Arts Management, Film, Communications, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field. (A Master’s Degree is an added advantage).
• Experience: At least five (5) years of senior executive management experience.
• Industry Knowledge: Proven understanding of copyright law, intellectual property rights, creative industries, or Collective Management Organizations.
• Core Skills: Strong financial management, stakeholder negotiation, strategic planning, and leadership capabilities.
